Every year, the illicit cigarette trade produces millions of cigarettes– undermining important efforts to reduce smoking rates in Canada.

Organized criminal groups benefit from the trade of cheap and untaxed tobacco products, making it easily accessible and affordable - undermining efforts to reduce smoking prevalence and protect youth from smoking across Canada, while posing a serious threat to the safety of communities across Canada.

The federal government should be responsible for coordinating, with Provincial counterparts, and suffocating this type of illegal, unsafe activity. It's time for concrete action to combat the illicit tobacco trade.

Add your name to this petition and let the Prime Minister and his colleagues know that Canadians want a more coordinated, aggressive, to combat illegal tobacco trafficking.

The world is changing - It’s time to change with it.

It’s possible to rid Canada of cigarettes by 2035, but all of us will have to work together to get there!
